Max Verstappen has Red Bull “scared,” according to McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

Verstappen has been dominating Formula One for a while now. He has won the last three world championships and is now leading the field by 84 points heading into 2024.

But in recent races, the Dutchman’s supremacy has begun to wane as drivers such as Lando Norris, George Russell, and Lewis Hamilton have begun to challenge him at the head of the grid.

The Austrian Grand Prix on June 30 was the tipping point, as both races were wrecked when Norris and Verstappen crashed while battling for the lead. Although Verstappen was fined for the incident, he refused to take responsibility.

Now, Norris’ boss, Zak Brown, has launched a verbal attack on Verstappen’s Red Bull team, insisting, via The Independent, that it’s the Dutchman that rules the roost in the paddock.

“It appears that Red Bull is afraid of Max,” he said at the start. We are really truthful with our drivers. Why should he believe otherwise if no one informs him that what he did violated the rules?

Who are you fooling, though, that Christian would appear on the radio and directly blame Lando for the issue? It has been witnessed by everybody. The rules are really clear: you must give an automobile’s width. He didn’t. Why did he even need to speak at all? It felt completely out of place.
