Freddie Ladapo is expected to join Huddersfield Town, bolstering their forward areas. Prior to the transfer window closing, the striker left his last team, Ipswich Town, and is returning to League One with the Terriers.
The 31-year-old striker is reportedly going through a physical exam after the Terriers were demoted from the second division the previous campaign. If the deal goes through, Ladapo will be wearing the jersey of his 19th different club.
From non-league to the Premier League – Ladapo’s career so far
Ladapo was born in Romford and began his career in the youth systems of Southend United and Colchester United. The striker made a total of six appearances for the League Two side but had numerous loan spells in non-league.
A spell with Isthmian Premier side Margate during the 2015-16 season, scoring 25 goals in 53 matches saw him earn a move to Crystal Palace. Despite his big move, it didn’t work out for the striker and he dropped down the pyramid once again before signing for Plymouth Argyle in 2018.
Ladapo had a successful season in Devon before securing a move to Rotherham United in 2019. The 31 year old was a member of the side that secured promotion to the Championship in 2019-20 and a goal every three games on average for the Millers saw him move to Ipswich
