NLCS: Dodgers at Mets Game 3 viewing guide
The Dodgers and Mets get ready for round three, this time at at Citi Field in New York for Game 3 of a tied National League Championship Series.
Walker Buehler gets the start for the Dodgers in Game 3, with the team confident in the veteran right-hander and his loads of postseason experience even though he’s had a trying season coming back from his second Tommy John surgery.
“I feel good. I feel confident. So I think that probably was one of my biggest strengths for a long time was my confidence, I guess,” Buehler told reporters at Citi Field on Tuesday’s workout day. “At times this year that’s kind of wavered somewhat. The past six or eight [starts], I’ve kind of felt like I’ve been building blocks of some kind. And hoping to keep that going.”
Luis Severino gets the call for the Mets, having lasted at least six innings in six of his seven starts since the beginning of September, with a 3.89 ERA, 40 strikeouts, and 10 walks in 41… innings. That includes six innings and three earned runs in his two starts so far this postseason.
Games 3-5 mark the longest run at home for the Mets in three and a half weeks. They finished the regular season with six road games, then played all three wild card games in Milwaukee before the first two NLDS games in Philadelphia. During the Division Series, the Mets returned home in a tied 1-1 series and won both games to send the Phillies packing. Now, New York has three in a row at Citi Field, where they are 48-35 (.578) this season.
