Simone Biles Details “Intimate” Date Nights With Husband Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles knows how to stick the landing when it comes to alone time with her husband.

The 11-time Olympic medalist gave a peek into how she and Jonathan Owens—who tied the knot in April 2023—like to unwind from their busy lives.

“Usually, either date nights or just sitting out by the pool watching movies,” Simone exclusively told E! News Oct. 23 at the Los Angeles premiere of Simone Biles Rising: Part 2. “Anything little and intimate to have that time, because we’re usually always out and about or away from one another.”

And while the second installment of Simone’s documentary, premiering on Netflix Oct. 25, showcases the pair prioritizing their home life, the seven-time gold medalist says that supporting each other’s careers is also important.

Although the NFL player’s support for his gymnast wife currently knows no bounds—even negotiating his contract with the Chicago Bears to allow him to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics and support Simone—he wasn’t always so aware of her G.O.A.T. status.

When the couple began dating during the coronavirus pandemic, Jonathan admittedly “didn’t know who she was” because he “never really paid attention” to gymnastics.

“She came down to Houston,” the former Houston Texans safety recalled in a December 2023 interview with The Pivot. “She lived in the suburbs, so she had to drive about 45 minutes. Then the rest is history.”

As for how the Olympian knew that she had met her match? It all came down to the women in his life.

“I knew he was the one when I first met his mom,” Simone told E! News’ Francesca Amiker in January 2023. “She has a little bit of a disability with her walking, she’s gotten a lot stronger, but how he treated his mother and how he treats women, I was like, ‘Wow.
