Kentucky gets a commitment from a former USC defensive end

Kentucky football coach Mark Stoops has a lot of work to do to replace the players he lost to either graduation or the transfer portal. The Wildcats have reached out to a number of players in the portal, and it has paid off with a commitment from Sam Greene on Saturday.

Greene transfers to Kentucky after playing for the USC Trojans. Last season he played in all 12 games and recorded 15 tackles, including three for a loss. He also had a sack.

A former three star recruit, Greene was ranked as a top 500 recruit in the 2023 class. He was ranked as the number 481 overall player by 247sports and the number 52 defensive lineman.

The Wildcats had a solid defense last year, especially early in the season. They’ll look to establish a pass rush, and they hope Greene will be a part of that. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
