Breaking New: Bengals Coach Makes MVP Argument For Joe Burrow After Win vs….read more

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is planting his flag that Joe Burrow deserves to be the league’s MVP.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on Sunday night.

After another monster performance in Cincinnati’s 30-24 overtime win over the Denver Broncos to keep his team’s playoff hopes alive, Taylor couldn’t say enough positive things about his QB.

“I don’t know that anybody can stand on the field and watch Joe Burrow and say he’s not the best player in the world,” Taylor said at his postgame press conference.

“Then you can transfer that argument to Ja’Marr Chase as well, and you can argue those two to death. But the clearest thing I can say is, I would not trade Joe Burrow for any player in the universe. And so to me, that’s [an] MVP.”

Burrow finished the night with 412 yards and three passing touchdowns to add to what’s been one of the best statistical years of his Pro Bowl career.

Through 16 games the former No. 1 pick has tossed for over 4,500 yards and 42 TDs to just eight interceptions — making him the first QB in franchise history to throw for 40 or more scores.

It’s hard to imagine Burrow could play any better than he has to this point but his team still only sits at 8-8 and is in need of some help even if it wins its final game next week.

With that said, if you ask any team in the AFC who they’d least like to face in the first round the of the playoffs it would be Burrow and the Bengals. Cincinnati’s offense can score with anyone and when its defense is locked in they can be all the more dangerous.
