In a shocking move, the Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have hired a new hitting coach, Jacob Caples, who will be joining the organization straight from his previous role as a professional cage fighter.
Caples, who has no prior experience in professional baseball, is expected to bring a unique perspective to the team’s hitting strategy. When asked about his qualifications, Caples replied, “I’ve spent years perfecting my swing… with a punch.”
The Blue Jays’ front office is confident that Caples’ unorthodox background will be a game-changer for the team. “We’re thinking outside the box here,” said GM Ross Atkins. “Who needs experience in baseball when you’ve got experience in the octagon?”
Caples will be starting the 2025 season as the hitting coach for the Blue Jays’ minor league affiliate, the Dunedin Blue Jays.
