Just In: ESPN Makes ‘Super’ Prediction For Commanders in 2025…

Washington Commanders predicted to make Super Bowl LX

Experts are split on the Washington Commanders’ encore next season, with some predicting a berth in Super Bowl LX and others projecting less than 10 wins.

After a scintillating season in which they crushed expectations, won individual awards and came within one victory of playing in the Super Bowl, the Washington Commanders remain a polarizing team.

Will head coach Dan Quinn and star quarterback Jayden Daniels continue the momentum in 2025? Or was this season a bit of a one-year wonder in which Washington will struggle to build upon?

The answer depends on whom you ask.

According to a new ESPN survey, the Commanders will next season play in Super Bowl LX.

“I’m not taking the result of one game to mean the Chiefs are done winning Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes,” writes ESPN’s Dan Graziano. “But look forward to two weeks of “Is Jayden Daniels the next Mahomes?” conversations leading up to the Super Bowl next season.”

A leading betting analyst believes LX in Santa Clara will feature the Commanders against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

“Bold predictions are not for the weak,” says Pamela Maldonado. “The Bengals are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 season, and the Commanders are an intriguing long shot after making the NFC Championship Game. With significant cap space, both teams could make impactful moves to bolster their rosters.”

At the other end of the spectrum are the non-believers, skeptical that Washington can string together a Hail Mary, multiple last-play victories and put together a 12-5 record and then win two road playoff games.

Pro Football Sports Network boldly predicts that their 2025 season will not be as bright and that they will fail to win 10 games. Says the site:

“Washington was the ninth team in the 17-game regular season era to win 11+ games despite holding the lead for under 57.5% of its offensive snaps, and unless Jayden Daniels is ready to be a perennial MVP contender, that paints an ominous picture for 2025. Daniels was great in his first season, but is he on that Allen/Mahomes level already? Maybe, but if he’s not there quite yet, Washington could regress in the standings in a meaningful way.”
