Biles updated her fans through Snapchat and Instagram stories. The couple, who tied the knot in April 2023, had been too busy with their athletic careers to take a trip until now.
Biles dominated the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning three gold medals and a silver. Owens, who just completed his first season with the Chicago Bears, has now finally found the time for a much-needed trip. In a Valentine’s Day post, Biles hinted at the trip, writing, “Off to our honeymoon. 2 years later,” alongside photos of their packed luggage.
The Pair has taken many short trips, first in Switzerland and then in Miami before taking off to South Africa to enjoy their honeymoon.
Many fans expected the couple to honeymoon in Bora Bora, as Biles had previously mentioned in an interview with Olympic.com. She once said, “I’ve always wanted to go to Bora Bora.” However, on February 16, she surprised her followers by revealing that they had landed in South Africa.

Why the Delay in their Honeymoon?
The delay was largely due to their training and competition schedules. Biles spent most of 2023 preparing for the Olympics, competing at the World Championships in Belgium and later training for Paris 2024. Meanwhile, Owens played the 2023 NFL season with the Green Bay Packers before joining the Chicago Bears for 2024.
Despite their hectic careers, they found time to support each other. Simone Biles, in a recent interview with Olympics.com, stated “Oh, my gosh. It means the world to me. And I know it means so much to him for me to be able to go and support his games. For him, it means a lot for me to go on the sideline before because he says that’s his pre-game routine. So, he’s always looking for me on the sideline to give him, like, good luck vibes and wishes. That’s just his superstition.”
And now, with a rare break in their schedules, the couple is finally getting the chance to celebrate their marriage properly. While Bora Bora had long been the expected destination, their choice of South Africa adds an exciting twist to their long-awaited getaway.
