Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry is a creature of habit, and his consistency on the court is a testament to the power of his well-honed pregame routine. After 16 years in the NBA, the four-time champion and 11-time All-Star remains one of the most elite shooters in league history—thanks in part to his disciplined approach, including what he eats before every game.
In a recent interview with GQ, Curry gave fans a rare glimpse into his game-day nutrition, revealing that his breakfast has remained “pretty much” the same throughout his career, with only one occasional twist if he’s “feeling frisky.”
“I eat pretty much the same breakfast every time,” Curry shared. “It’s some type of egg—an omelet or a scramble—something with some breakfast meats in there and some spinach.”
He doesn’t stop there. To round out his meal, Curry adds a bowl of yogurt mixed with granola and berries, along with a protein-packed smoothie. But on rare occasions, he treats himself to a little extra.
“If I’m feeling frisky, I might have half a waffle or something—just to get a little carb load going,” he admitted.
Curry’s dedication to his routine speaks to the level of precision and care he puts into his body—something that has helped him dominate the NBA well into his mid-30s. While his pregame breakfast remains constant, he allows for some variety in his meals later in the day, opting for a protein source such as fish or chicken, paired with pasta or rice and a vegetable.
With his diet dialed in, it’s no wonder Curry continues to defy expectations, draining three-pointers and outpacing defenders with the energy of a player half his age. His breakfast may be simple, but it’s clearly the fuel behind his sustained greatness.
