Following the controversy surrounding the use of VAR in Celtic’s match against Hearts, Neil Lennon has spoken out strongly in support of his team.
Following halftime, strikes from Lawrence Shankland and Jorge Grant handed Brendan Rodgers’ team a 2-0 defeat. Referee decisions inside and outside the stadium ruined the first half at Gorgie. Don Robertson gave Celtic a penalty kick for a foul on Yang by Alex Cochrane.
The South Korean winger was then sent off for a high boot on Cochrane after VAR official John Beaton recommended a second look. Celtic then had a penalty given against them following a check for a Tomoki Iwata handball and Shankland had a goal chopped for being offside.
