Unlike the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Sky are finding ways to complete trades for much-needed draft capital as the team rebuilds around second-year star Angel Reese. The Sky are coming off a 13-27 record in 2024.
Chicago has yet to find a suitable replacement for last year’s leading scorer, Chennedy Carter. The Sky chose not to give her a qualifying offer after a dramatic season.
The Sky hold the No. 3 and No. 7 pick in the 2025 draft. They added more draft picks on Friday that they can use to add another quality player or to help move up in the draft
The Chicago Sky traded Dana Evans
Per Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Sky are set to send Dana Evans to the Las Vegas Aces in return for two second-round picks.
“According to multiple league sources, the Sky are finalizing a trade that will send guard Dana Evans to the Aces for two second-round draft picks,” Costabile posted on X. “Evans — a product of Gary, Indiana — was acquired by the Sky via trade a month into the 2021 championship season.”
Evans was selected in the second round of the 2021 draft by the Dallas Wings. The Wings traded the Louisville Cardinals standout to Chicago on June 2, 2021.
At 26, Evans has appeared in 140 games and started 14. She averaged 6.2 points, 2.0 assists, and .9 rebounds per game to start her four-year WNBA career. Evans averaged 7.2 points per game in 2024.
