Breaking News: Caitlin Clark & DeWanna Bonner Finally Settle Clash for Greater Fever…

Caitlin Clark and DeWanna Bonner get into it during the 2024 WNBA...

Having Caitlin Clark on your team comes with very high expectations. Despite the Indiana Fever coming into the 2024 season with a subpar roster, fans were expecting Clark to perform miracles for the team. She didn’t quite do that, but Indiana had a more than respectable season and made it back to the playoffs.

In 2025, the team needs to improve in order to reach some of their goals. To do so, the front office has made a lot of moves that have shaken up the franchise. They have switched head coaches, made trades and signed free agents. The Fever recently introduced those new players, and there’s one who is more intriguing than all of them due to her talent and a past heated exchange with Clark.

DeWanna Bonner was asked by reporters about the incident she had with Clark in last season’s WNBA playoffs. During Game 2 between the Connecticut Sun and Fever, Clark and Bonner got into an exchange when a foul wasn’t called on the forward for a late contest on a Clark three-point shot.

DeWanna Bonner doesn’t pay mind to her “exchange” with Caitlin Clark

Bonner said something to Clark that the rookie wasn’t fond of. Clark pushed Bonner lightly, but nothing else came of it. When talking about that “altercation”, Bonner was very dismissive of it.

“I think it was just two competitive players who wanted to win and push their teams to get to the finish line. It’s the playoffs so emotions are high, tensions are high, but I’m excited to step on the court with Caitlin. I think we just feed well off of each other”.

Bonner’s answer is both politically correct and likely the truth. Sports are competitive, but once the games are over, what happens on the court tends to stay on the court.

While Clark hasn’t outright talked about the Bonner exchange in recent media appearances, her comments about the new signings make it seem like that “fight” is something she’d like to see more of from Bonner and other teammates.

“They know what it takes to win, they know what it takes to get to the Finals, they know what it takes to win championships. I think it’s exactly what we needed in our locker room. But also they’re not just really good basketball players, they’re great leaders and great people”

The Fever open up the 2025 WNBA season on May 17, in a game against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
