ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) — A man was arrested in Arkansas City Sunday evening after multiple 911 calls reporting he was pointing a gun at two people at a stop light.

The incident happened in the 2700 block of N. Summit Street. Two people told police it began with a near collision and an exchange of words.

Branon DuncanPolice said the suspect, 50-year-old , fled the scene in a Ford pickup truck and was later located near Edgemont Drive and Summit Street in Arkansas City. Duncan was booked for two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. A search of his vehicle found a 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun.

Duncan was being held in the Cowley County Jail on $40,000 bond.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Duncan has prior aggravated assault and drug convictions.
