In the summer of 2024, Nottingham Forest may decide to sell Murillo and ask for a price comparable to what they received for Brennan Johnson when they traded him to Tottenham Hotspur.

Journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic has asserted that Forest’s position on Murillo is as such.

Nottingham Forest could sell Murillo

Journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic claims that Nottingham Forest may sell Murillo in the summer of 2024.

According to the publication, Forest expects Murillo to be in high demand at the end of the season. Forest recently signed Nuno as their new manager after firing Steve Cooper.

Ornstein has mentioned that the Reds will expect a price comparable to what they received for Brennan Johnson if they decide to sell the 21-year-old central defender in the summer of 2024.

In the summer of 2023, Tottenham signed Johnson, a forward for Wales, from Forest. Spurs acquired him for a transfer cost of £47.5 million (Sky Sports).

“I haven’t heard of anything for January, Jack, but he is one who Forest expect to generate interest in the summer,” Ornstein responded in a Q&A with The Athletic when asked if there is any real interest in Murillo in January.

“The Johnson sale has raised the bar quite a bit, therefore a large price will be required to let rid of players like MGW or Murillo.

Murillo is a star player for Nottingham Forest

Murillo has been one of Nottingham Forest’s greatest performers thus far this season, in my opinion.

In the summer of 2023, the 21-year-old left Corinthians to join Forest. He arrived at City Ground towards the end of the window and did not play in the Reds’ preseason.

Thus, his performance for Forest and his speed in adjusting to Premier League standards are quite impressive. Not to mention that the Brazilian is only 21 years old currently.

Thus far this season, Murillo has made 11 appearances in the Premier League. With 14 points from 17 games, Forest is now sitting 17th in the league table, five points ahead of third-place Luton Town after 16 games.
