Matthew Stafford has been red hot under center for the Los Angeles Rams this month, and he joined some elite company in Thursday’s 30-22 win over the New Orleans Saints at SoFi Stadium.

Stafford became just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw 10-plus touchdowns and no interceptions in the month of December in a single season, joining the likes of Aaron Rodgers (2021), Drew Brees (2019) and Tom Brady (2010). His performance has been a big part of the Rams’ revitalization in the latter half of this season, and head coach Sean McVay acknowledged as much on Thursday night following the win.

“It’s been outstanding,” McVay said. “His leadership, he’s feeling good too. People don’t understand how much he was pushing through with the thumb injury, but this guy is a stud. He elevates everybody, myself included, and he’s playing outstanding. I wouldn’t want anyone else in the world leading our team than him.”
