Tommy DeVito – AKA “Tommy Cutlets” – the New York Giants’ undrafted starting quarterback, has caught the world by storm with his characteristic Italian-American panache, New Jersey charm, and winning ways, leading the “Big Blue” to three straight triumphs.

Stellato recently put himself in hot water when he unexpectedly increased DeVito’s appearance fee at Coniglio’s Old Fashioned Pizzeria from $10,000 to $20,000. Shortly afterwards, the Jersey pizza declared on social media that DeVito would no longer be performing there.

Stellato addressed the reports about the event during an appearance on “The Claman Countdown,” saying it was all a “miscommunication.”

“There was clearly a misunderstanding. And I apologize if I was to blame. “That was not my intention,” he explained. “This is clearly behind us. Tommy walked in, met the owner, and we’re genuinely delighted to do a charitable performance there [Coniglio’s] next month. He’s not charging an appearance fee, which is fantastic for the community.”

Despite the misunderstanding,

Stellato went on to say that the NFL pre-draft process is a chance for athletes to either evolve or “hit the reverse.” DeVito found himself in a difficult situation after signing as a third-string, undrafted free agent with the New York Giants. Stellato, on the other hand, is not surprised by DeVito’s success.

“It’s a testament to how he was raised by his mother and father, and where he grew up.” Let’s face it: coming from Jersey requires really special blood. “It’s been very refreshing to see him go out there day in and day out and just work and prove the naysayers wrong,” he told FOX Business’ Liz Claman.
