This offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders are a fascinating squad to follow. Since head coach Josh McDaniels was fired, the 2023 season hasn’t been a total bust, but the squad most likely won’t be making the playoffs.

The Raiders could try to build around the top players they already have, or they could gut the squad and start over. But there might be a few players in Las Vegas who command a high price in the trade market.

Because of his connections to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, star wide receiver Davante Adams has been associated with trade rumors involving the New York Jets for some time. Rich Cimini of ESPN claims that Adams is on Aaron Rodgers’ “wish list” for the 2024 offseason.

In a post published on December 24, Cimini stated, “Players on the Rodgers 2024 watch list include Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who caught 68 touchdowns from Rodgers during their years together in Green Bay.” The deal would come with a substantial salary because Adams, who turns 31 on Sunday, has a contract that guarantees $17 million for 2024. It is said that the Jets are willing to chase him.

Together, Rodgers and Adams enjoyed great success throughout their time on the Green

What a Davante Adams Trade Could Look Like

Davante Adams won’t be traded by the Raiders, especially not to an AFC team, for a low price. The Jets will have to shell out more money to acquire him. It’s difficult to think Adams would be traded by the team for anything less than a first-round selection.

The Jets currently hold the eighth pick in the draft, according to Tankathon. Would they be prepared to part up a top-10 pick in exchange for a recently 31-year-old wide receiver? Depending on Aaron Rodgers’ desires, perhaps. It is obvious that he has a lot of influence within the company, and they might comply with his requests. A top-10 selection for Adams is definitely tempting to the Raiders. It would be challenging to turn that.

Davante Adams Talks Closing out Games

The Raiders’ inability to close off games has been a major factor in their struggles over the past two seasons. There has been a focus on finishing games since the team’s Week 16 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders enjoyed a 14-0 lead over the Chiefs in their previous meeting, but they ultimately lost 31-17.

Las Vegas led Kansas City 17-0 the previous season, but they ultimately fell short. Davante Adams discussed the significance of performing well throughout the entire game.

During his media availability on December 20, Adams stated, “Coaches and players working together, players executing whatever is called and coaches making sure we continue to have that aggressive mindset, which ultimately makes – I mean that’s what typically puts us in that spot to where we have that lead.” Therefore, we must stick with whatever it was that led us there and figure out a method to carry out our roles as players in order to move the ball and make things happen.
