The 24-year-old Nigerian-born front-rower, who began his career with Leeds Rhinos, joined the Tigers a year ago and appeared in 16 games in his debut season.

Mustapha scored one try in nine appearances for Leeds, as well as for Hull KR in the Super League and various Championship and League One loans.

“It’s been a tough couple of years for me,” Mustapha admitted.

“I’m glad we managed to stay up and I’m able to stay at the club for the next few years and hopefully they’re a good few years.”

“Muizz is a player we’ve targeted and he’s who we want to be at the club long term,” said Danny Wilson, director of rugby operations.

“Getting Muizz to agree to stay demonstrates that he is having fun.”
