As the January transfer window gets about to begin, Nottingham Forest is currently getting close to signing two new players. Nuno Espirito Santo will begin reassembling his team following yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

To enhance Forest, the Portuguese manager will have several goals in mind. Currently, it appears that the club will close two deals shortly.

Yesterday at the City Ground, Forest defeated United with fantastic performance. Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolas Dominguez both scored goals to guarantee the Reds finished five points above the relegation zone.

Forest is nearing two additional acquisitions.

The Mirror claims that Forest is nearly finished with two acquisitions and that the team is working hard behind the scenes. The other player scheduled to join is Gelson Martins, while Nino is scheduled to come from Fluminense.

It’s been a bit of a saga for Nino with Forest’s interest. He recently made his debut for Brazil and has been associated with the club for a little while.

He recently participated in the Club World Cup final for Fluminense, which ended in a loss to Manchester City. But now, he’s going to join for Forest in Nottingham Forest instead of Brazil.

Martins, who will reportedly join the team from Monaco, is the other new addition. He hasn’t played yet this season, and his contract expires in the summer.

With plenty of time remaining, the 28-year-old should prove to be a valuable addition. With his exceptional speed, he was once coveted by Arsenal, who had their £26 million offer turned down

Forest must focus on outgoings now

Adding a winger and a central defender early in the transfer window would undoubtedly assist Forest complete two necessary acquisitions. It’s time to shift the emphasis to getting players out the door.

Espirito Santo will prefer to work with a more lean group for the balance of the season because this one is way too bloated. For example, West Ham may try harder to sign Joe Worrall now that Nino is here.

Hopefully, Forest can ensure Espirito Santo gets his wish. It’s never an easy transfer window to offload players during January but hopefully, some suitors can be sought for some fringe players.
