The NFL has announced that Aidan O’Connell, a rookie quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, is a nominee for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week award for Week 17. The rookie is up for the honor for the second time this season; two weeks ago, he was nominated following his 248-yard, four-touchdown performance in the Raiders’ 63-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. The two touchdown passes from the former fourth-round dra   pick went to Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, who has witnessed firsthand O’Connell’s growth this season. “I mean, there’s been some things that I’ve seen consistent that were good, and then, there’s some things that weren’t as great and then, I’ve seen him transform and turn into strengths,” Adams stated to reporters on Wednesday. He has clearly done a fantastic job of leading the attack and maintaining composure. I have never actually seen him appear too rattled.The game can be challenging, and he doesn’t always have an easy time with it, but one thing I have seen improve is his poise and serenity. He wasn’t crazy.
