CBS PHILADELPHIA – After setting an NFL record this season, A.J. Brown has had a quiet month.

Brown appeared prepared for a big afternoon in the regular season finale against the New York Giants, with a potential NFC East title on the line, with fellow wideout DeVonta Smith already out.

Brown, on the other hand, was forced to leave the game.

Brown lost the ball late in the first quarter after pulling in a slant throw from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Brown was down on the ground holding his right knee after being tackled, which no one in the Eagles organization wants to see with a playoff meeting against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looming.

A.J. Brown's Week 18 injury had Eagles fans furious about playing starters on Giants' bad turf

“Obviously, I feel terrible,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni admitted. “I feel bad if one of our players is injured. It’s difficult to go through an investigation and play through an injury. I’m hoping he’s okay, and we’ll see how the rest of the week goes.”

Brown was not the only Eagles player to sustain an injury. The injuries mounted for the battered Birds in their 27-10 loss to the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Injuries forced safeties Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown, as well as guard Cam Jurgens, to leave the game. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was also injured, although he returned to the game before Sirianni removed the starters.

Sirianni stated that Brown, who was injured in the knee, greeted each player at the locker room door following the loss. According to NFL Network, Brown’s ACL is intact after the initial assessment following his retirement from the game. If he is unable to play next week, the offense will suffer greatly.
