MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Vikings’ season has come to an end. While there is much to look back on and examine, there are also many crucial issues about the future.

In reality, the offseason of the 2024 Vikings could be one of the most significant in at least a half-decade. There are key players on both the defense and offense who may not return next season, which would drastically change the team’s makeup.

Vikings enter offseason as Kirk Cousins' potential return at QB weighs on other pressing needs

So, let’s take a look at the most pressing issues confronting Minnesota this summer.

WHAT WILL TAKE PLACE AT QUARTERBACK?
Kirk Cousins, 35, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in a win over the Green Bay Packers in the eighth week of the NFL season. What’s worse, he was playing some of his finest football of his career prior to the injury. He was also in the final year of his deal.

As a result, the Vikings must determine whether to re-sign an older quarterback who has recently suffered a serious injury. Though he has stated a desire to stay with the Vikings, he is unlikely to return cheaply, limiting the team’s flexibility with contract extensions and free-agent acquisitions.
