The New Orleans Saints’ season came to a strange finish. With the playoffs at stake, the Saints annihilated a division opponent, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 48-17.

The outcome of the game might define the season and future moves for New Orleans, depending on what happens with head coach Dennis Allen and other key players.

But one thing is certain: New Orleans faces a difficult road ahead of it.

New Orleans Saints have 35 projected free agents in 2024

According to Over The Cap, the Saints are dead last in the NFL in terms of expected cap space for the offseason, with a negative $76 million. Free agency will not be as exciting as fans would want. In fact, they’re likely to bid farewell to at least these five.

1. Jimmy Graham, tight end
Jimmy Graham surprised everyone by returning to football after missing the previous year. It was fitting to see him play his final NFL season with the Saints, if he doesn’t play elsewhere in 2024.

Graham, on the other hand, appears to be nearing the end of his career in the league at the age of 37. He is no longer the man he once was. Indeed, his tenure in Green Bay and Chicago began to demonstrate this. Now, the Saints should wish him farewell with the expectation that he will retire.

The Saints desperately need to find a true playmaker at tight end. Juwan Johnson has been effective in the red zone.
