Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, expressed his shock at the team’s crushing playoff defeat at home against the Green Bay Packers on Super Wild Card Weekend, saying he hadn’t given head coach Mike McCarthy any thought.

Regarding McCarthy’s future, Jones told reporters, “I haven’t thought one second about it.” “I am aware of the significance of our fans’ accomplishments.

“This seems like the most painful [playoff loss], because we all had such high hopes and expectations for this team,” Jones continued.

“I’m in shock. I don’t understand this at all.”

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott comes out in favor of his head coach. Prescott will have $59.4 million counted against the salary limit in the last year of his deal next season. “[McCarthy] has been incredible,” he remarked.
