Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni speaks with members of the media during availability at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

With veteran center Jason Kelce apparently set to retire, the Philadelphia Eagles are expecting to lose an important player. There has been significant conjecture over the identity of the team’s next crucial player.

On Tuesday, Fletcher Cox posted something on Instagram that a lot of his followers took to mean he was going to retire. The seasoned defensive tackle shared a picture of himself with Brandon Graham and Kelce in the middle, along with three emoticons that represented salutes.

Cox might have just been paying homage to Kelce, who has allegedly decided he won’t return for the upcoming season. Even if Cox and Graham both return, the veteran core of Philadelphia won’t be the same without Kelce, though it wouldn’t be shocking if Cox also decided to hang up his spike.

Eagles' immediate move after playoff exit hints at Nick Sirianni's return

Last month, Cox turned 33. He joined the Eagles after being selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and during his twelve-year career, he has only missed a small number of games.

Despite not being as dominant as he once was, Cox still managed five sacks and one forced fumble in 15 games this season. He participated in all 17 games and had 7 sacks.

Everybody eventually reaches a point where their body simply stops recovering as swiftly as it once did. And it just turns into a job since you’ve already accomplished enough to feel satisfied. There comes a time when it makes more sense to walk away from this work than to take a different route.

Nick Bosa, a defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers, revealed one distinction he sees between Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love on Tuesday.

In an interview with reporters prior to the clubs’ Divisional Round matchup on Saturday, the 49ers standout discussed the recent success of the Green Bay Packers. Bosa explained why he thinks the current version of the Packers without Rodgers has the potential to be even more deadly.

“They have a quarterback who does exactly what he is coached to do—and they have a lot of the same guys from the really good teams they have had in the past,” Bosa remarked.

“Aaron Rodgers is an incredible Hall of Famer, but he kind of left the coaching field.” Having a person who is competent at what he does can be beneficial at times.
