League sources are confirming that Brian Callahan, the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, has agreed to take over as head coach of the Titans. This means that Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, who was another “hot candidate,” will not be heading to Tennessee.

Quinn was set for another interview with the Titans, who had just parted ways with Mike Vrabel. However, for whatever reason, the Titans decided to hire Callahan on Monday, so that plan was abandoned.

During his in-person meeting with the Titans front office on Monday, the 39-year-old Callahan impressed everyone.

Callahan is the son of former Dallas assistant and longtime NFL coach Bill Callahan.

Will Levis is a young quarterback for the Titans who shows promise; this may have been the organization’s decision to go with offence instead of defence when making this hire. Of course, Callahan’s most recent employer in Cincinnati was quarterback Joe Burrow.

Quinn, 53, is still a highly sought-after candidate with many suitors; one team he visited for his second interview was the Seattle Seahawks, where he was a defensive coordinator in the Super Bowl before.
