Its Dallas Mavericks day and they are interested in acquiring forward Andrew Wiggins from the Golden State Warriors.

Michael Scotto and Anthony Slater, a reporter for The Athletic covering the Warriors, recently appeared on the “Hoops Hype” podcast. The two NBA insiders spoke about a variety of Warriors subjects, including Wiggins’ trade market.

The Mavericks have “always liked” Wiggins, according to Scotto, and they are presently searching for a better small forward.

Slater said, “Dallas rumblings have been out there,” confirming the Mavs as a possible contender for Wiggins.

Slater continued by saying that if Golden State might only want to get rid of Wiggins, a number of other clubs might view him as a buy-low prospect. As of right now, Wiggins is in the first year of a four-year, $109 million deal that will last through 2026–2027.

Wiggins was already mentioned by the Mavericks earlier this month, and they still seem to be interested in his talents.

Wiggins’ production has plummeted this season after he was selected to the All-Star team for the 2021–22 campaign. The 28-year-old is averaging 12.0 points and 1.5 assists per game on shooting splits of 42.7% from the field and 29.5% from the three-point line, all career lows. There have also been rumors that the Warriors are frustrated with Wiggins’ lack of conditioning. Since he struggled with a personal issue that sidelined him for a significant portion of the previous season, Wiggins’s play has declined for Golden State. Even a year later, the former No. 1 overall pick has not recovered and could be traded.
