Former Georgia Offensive Line Graduate Assistant Jeremy King has secured his first on-field coaching position.

In addition to his extensive experience developing athletes with the Georgia program, Head Coach Kirby Smart has been a prolific producer of coaching talent. During his eight years at the leadership of the Georgia program, Smart has seen three former assistant coaches (Shane Beamer, Dan Lanning, Fran Brown) gain head coaching jobs and has helped a number of other coaches and supporters

staffers under his charge earn promotions or on-field coaching opportunities. On Saturday, Jeremy King became the latest member of the Smart coaching tree to move on to a new opportunity as the former Georgia Offensive Line Graduate Assistant was named the new Offensive Lime Coach at Western Carolina University.

During his redshirt senior season at Valdosta State, the Macon, Georgia native was a Division II All-American and was also named a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, an honor that is annually awarded to the top Division II lineman. Following his collegiate career, King spent two seasons with the Green Bay Blizzard of the indoor football league before ultimately deciding to hang up his cleats and enter the coaching profession.
