The Atlanta Falcons’ brass decided quickly about head coach Arthur Smith’s immediate future after the team’s regular-season finale loss to the division-rival New Orleans Saints.
Smith was let go by the team soon after the Falcons’ final game of the season, indicating that the decision was taken well in advance of the game’s end versus the Saints.
Following Smith’s dismissal from Atlanta, the Falcons conducted interviews with fourteen candidates to fill the coaching position. Raheem Morris, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, was selected as the team’s new head coach.
Smith finds himself in a precarious situation as the Falcons advance, particularly because there are currently just two head coaching positions available in the league. The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders have not yet appointed a new head coach.

The Atlanta Falcons’ brass decided quickly about head coach Arthur Smith’s immediate future after the team’s regular-season finale loss to the division-rival New Orleans Saints.
Shortly after the Falcons’ final game of the season, Smith was let go by the team.
The Steelers’ major issue in the 2023 season was their inability to generate any offensive momentum, particularly at the quarterback position where there was a quarterback turnover rate.
The Steelers, who were eager to improve, fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada because the team’s offensive performance was so dismal during the season.
They’ll need to select the best candidate to be the offensive coordinator going forward, with Smith obviously in the running, as the offense will be their top priority.
