Although Travis Kelce wishes he could be with Taylor Swift at the 66th GRAMMY Awards this weekend, he is busy with some significant developments in his own profession.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke candidly about his high-profile relationship and how it’s taken the sports and celebrity worlds by storm during an interview with Pat McAfee on his talk show of the same name on Wednesday.

Regarding the heightened attention, Kelce remarked, “It’s exciting for me, but it’s all brand new, man.” It has been an absolutely insane experience, from the paparazzi following me to everyone mentioning my name on their talk programme every day, whether or not it has anything to do with sports.

“But I’m having fun with it, he assured. “The majority of the world is having fun with it… All the cranky NFL fans, we’re slowly bringing them in.”

Swift attended her beau’s first Chiefs game on September 24; however, Kelce acknowledged that the two had been dating for around a month prior to that. She has been a regular at his games ever since, even joining him on the pitch to celebrate the Chiefs’ victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game on Sunday.

“Hopefully everybody realises that we’re just two people in a relationship, supporting each other and having fun with it, man, it’s nothing more than that,” Kelce stated in reference to Swift’s backing. “We just like it, regardless of how much the outside world tries to portray us as the enemy. And we take pleasure in every aspect of it.”

He also wishes he could attend Swift’s GRAMMYs in return, as the artist is up for six categories for her 2023 album Midnights. Sadly, though, his Super Bowl practice schedule prevents him from going.

“I wish I could go support Taylor at the GRAMMYs and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for but… unfortunately, I gotta get ready for this big old Super Bowl and we got a week,” he stated.

Kelce admitted that, as he prepares for the big game, he’s had to “take a step back” in terms of his public persona and focus on football.

“Everybody in this building knows my intentions,” he stated. “Right now, my primary emphasis is on football. Many individuals in this building, this city, and this organisation are depending on me. My primary attention is on this.”
