The Oilers can win 17 straight games when they face the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, February 6 at 10:00 PM ET. They have won 16 straight games.

In NHL history, that is very rare air. Edmonton is become just the third team in NHL history to win 16 straight games after defeating the Nashville Predators 4-1 on Saturday.

The victory over the Predators was made possible by a collective team effort while playing at home. Leon Draisaitl contributed two points (goal, assist), and Connor McDavid scored one goal and provided two assists. The Oilers are still riding high after recording the longest winning streak by a Canadian team in NHL history.

The Montreal Canadiens’ 12-game winning streak in 1967–68 was the previous high point for a Canadian team. With a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on January 20, the Oilers exceeded that threshold.

With 16 straight victories, the Edmonton Oilers are tied for the second-longest winning run in NHL history. Against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, February 6, Edmonton has a chance to tie the NHL record.
