Jets Hire Zach Azzanni - by David Wyatt-HuptonPittsburgh Interviews for the offensive staff are still ongoing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Three more candidates are scheduled to meet with the team for assistant positions following the hiring of Arthur Smith as offensive coordinator. League sources indicate that the Steelers will meet with Tom Arth of the Los Angeles Chargers, Charles London, the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator of the Tennessee Titans, and Zach Azzani, the wide receivers coach of the New York Jets. Interviews are also anticipated for the open strength and conditioning coaching positions.

In 2022, Arth made his NFL debut with the Chargers. He was the head coach at John Carroll (2013–2016), Chattanooga (2017–2018), and Akron (2019–2021) before moving to Los Angeles. In 2021 and 2022, London assisted Smith in his role as the quarterbacks coach for the Falcons in Atlanta. Before joining the Tennessee Titans as an offensive assistant in 2011, coaching Penn State’s running backs in 2012–2013, Houston Texans running backs in 2014–2017, and the Chicago Bears running backs in 2018–2020, he worked as an offensive quality control coach with the Bears from 2007 to 2009. He served as the passing game coordinator and coach for the Titans’ quarterbacks during the 2023 campaign.

As the only candidate lacking NFL passing game coordinator experience, Azzani has a ton of experience at the collegiate level. He has served as a wide receivers coach for the Bears (2017), Denver Broncos (2018–2022), and Jets (2023) in the NFL.
