Los Angeles — The team that Taylor Swift’s boyfriend plays for is headed to the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will play in Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday. The conversation is dominated by pop sensation Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s coupledom. Since the romance of the red-clad lovebirds permeates mainstream music, politics, pop culture, and even the NFL, no area of our society is safe.

Though we have had our share of near misses (ranch, anyone?), the realm of food seems to be the last frontier, and up until recently, there hasn’t been much Taylor and Travis in culinary culture.

When the Buffalo Bills played Kansas City at Highmark Stadium on January 21, Delaware North, the team’s food service partner, served two dishes that were influenced bySan Francisco 49ers: “Bad Blood” waffle fries and “Karma” quesadillas. To honour the respective cities of the two teams, the spicy waffle fries were topped with blue cheese, buffalo chicken, and Kansas City Cattleman’s BBQ pork, along with coleslaw and bread-and-butter pickles. Though we adore a “Taylor’s Version” just as much as the next Swiftie, this place does not feature any dishes with a Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce theme.
