A pro defensive coordinator target that I mentioned in yesterday’s 3R story was reluctant to be linked to the Michigan position because he was worried about how it would affect his pro prospects. Since then, Michigan’s situation has improved, and sources inform me that Joe Cullen, the defensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, is a top contender for the job.

Cullen has been in constant communication with Sherrone Moore for the past week, and it is clear that they are interested in one other, according to sources in the agent and coaching circles.

Fans of the Detroit Lions may recognise the name because from 2006 to 2008, he was Rod Marinelli’s defensive line coach for the team. Cullen left Ole Miss after being arrested on suspicion of drunkenness after passing out in a Subway restaurant. Cullen then moved to Detroit. His two alcohol-related events almost put a stop to his professional career before it ever begun, which is equally concerning given the start of his stay in Detroit.

Juwan Howard reacts to Michigan basketball’s loss to Rutgers: ‘Never seen last place before in my life’

Michigan’s 69-59 loss to Rutgers on Saturday at the Crisler Centre has left them winless in their last 11 games and in sole possession of last place in the Big Ten.

Following the outcome, U-M coach Juwan Howard discussed his thoughts on what it will take for the Wolverines to break out of their losing streak with reporters.

“I had never seen last place in my life when it came to playing here at the collegiate level and now coaching,” Howard remarked. We are going to find a way out of it for the first time with this. Naturally, we will not simply give in to it. We’re going to keep practicing, drill the habits we believe will be most helpful, and hold guys accountable when they fail to perform their duties.

Additionally, Howard discussed the second-half breakdowns that have turned into a recurring motif during the losing run. Halftime has seen the Wolverines ahead in six of the ten defeats.

“I don’t consider that to be reckless. I believe that when a team succeeds, as I just mentioned, there is uncertainty,” Howard remarked. When we faced Ohio State here, a team scored a run, and we were able to take advantage of that. Of course, you shouldn’t glance around and throw the finger at a guy for not doing his job, or think, “Uh oh, here we go again.” Although I’m not claiming that incident occurred [today], it is related. It is necessary for you to face yourself in the mirror and declare, “It begins with me.” Then, when things start to get out of control, you have to be uncomfortable in those situations and decide who will step forward and be a leader.

The Wolverines’ prior NCAA Tournament success, according to Howard, is proof of their “great” coaching staff and strategy.

“This stuff is effective. It does, according to Howard. “I’ve thought about maybe going with my walk-ons, given how the second halves have gone.” They care, I know that. They will grant us much more than we ask for. Everybody has it dialled

With National Signing Day on Wednesday, the college football 2024 recruiting cycle will soon come to a conclusion. Seven of the top 25 overall recruiting classes in the country belong to the newly enlarged Big Ten. And while the two powers continue to distance themselves from the rest of the competition, even though it may be far less than in the SEC, it is still the second-most in all other leagues.

The Big Ten has a good chance of winning a national title again in 2024, following Michigan’s victory. This is due to a combination of high-end incoming recruits and transfer portal additions. The 2024 high school recruiting class includes five five-star players who will play next season in the Big Ten. The league cleared most
