Le’Veon Bell, a former running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, says he wants to return to the NFL, but there’s a catch: he wants to stay in Pittsburgh.

About March, I won’t start training,” Bell posted on Snapchat. “I’m also going to be sincere with myself. I have to step outside and act as though I’m going to step on solid ground. Can I sense it? Do I injure myself? Is it possible for me to return to playing outside? And right now, guys, I’m telling you that when I train in March and decide in April to return to the NFL, you can count on me to be better than I’ve ever been. At all. And I’m only going to return for that one squad. You all already know who it is, so I don’t need to mention “no team.”

Between 2013 and 2018, Bell was a two-time All-Pro with the Steelers. In a Steelers uniform, he ran for 35 touchdowns and caught seven more, totaling over 1,200 yards of total yardage on three separate occasions. Bell last played for the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, appearing in eight games overall.
