According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Joe Cullen, the defensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, is a strong contender to become Michigan’s defensive coordinator. Cullen is being considered by the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Commanders as a possible defensive coordinator.

Cullen has been a college and professional coach for more than thirty years, so he has a wealth of coaching expertise. Though he did hold the position of defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021, the most of his career has been as a defensive line coach.

Sherrone Moore, the new coach at Michigan, is putting together his staff, and the most crucial position may be that of defensive coordinator. He needs to find a replacement for Jesse Minter, who is moving on to the Los Angeles Chargers with Jim Harbaugh after garnering praise for his work with the Michigan Wolverines.
