With 12 points from Jacob Groves and 16 points from Reece Beekman, Virginia defeated Miami 60–38 on Monday night to win its 23rd straight game at home, tying the NCAA record.

Virginia (18-5, 9-3 ACC) leads the conference in current winning streak with seven games in a row. In the Tony Bennett era, the Cavaliers improved to 114-2 while allowing 50 points or less.

Miami had not scored this few points in a game since 1985. Additionally, it was the fewest in an ACC game for the programme; the previous low, of 40, was achieved versus Virginia on February 25, 2014.

With 4:08 left in the first half, Beekman gave Virginia a double-digit lead, and Miami’s deficit remained at least 12 for the whole of the second half. After going up 18–4 early in the second half, the Cavaliers managed to limit Miami to just five field goals for the remainder of the game.
