The Aston Villa  squad has shown their respects following the tragic death of a Bristol City fan who collapsed during Sunday’s league game.

The memorial was held following the Aston Villa Women’s team’s post on X expressing their condolences for the death of the Bristol City supporter who unexpectedly passed away during Saturday’s Barclays Women’s Super League game at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium.

In addition to expressing the group’s sympathies, the statement thanked the stadium employees and the on-site medical team for their hard work and prompt response to the incident.

The Aston Villa Women’s squad posted the following statement on X: “We are all very sorry to hear of the death of a Bristol City fan who passed away during yesterday’s BarclaysSWL match.

“We offer the family and friends our deepest sympathies and condolences during this trying time. We also appreciate the efforts of WFCOffical, the stadium employees, and the on-site medical team.”

Bristol City Women’s also expressed their condolences on X, thanking the workers at Walsall FC stadium for their efforts.

The group posted the following statement on X: “We are all very sorry to hear of the death of a Bristol City supporter who passed away during Saturday’s Barclays Women’s Super League match against Aston Villa.

“We send our sympathy and condolences to the family and friends at this difficult time.

“We would also like to thank the on-site medical staff and the stadium staff at Walsall FC for their efforts.”
