The NFC Championship Game at Levi’s Stadium saw the Detroit Lions of 2023 lose to the San Francisco 49ers, capping off a disastrous season.
Rapper Eminem, who travelled to Santa Clara and garnered notoriety for giving 49ers fans the finger when he was in a suite, was one of the prominent Lions supporters. Trent Williams, an offensive tackle for the 49ers, couldn’t help but poke fun at the hip-hop icon after the game.

Trent Williams couldn’t resist a subtle dig at the Lions superfan

In response to a question on whether he felt sympathy for Eminem and the Detroit Lions following their heartbreaking defeat, Williams said he thought the rapper will make some great music in the wake of the incident, implying that he usually produces his finest work when he’s feeling “sad.”

Eminem has been a fervent fan of the Lions, having appeared on the Ford Field sidelines earlier in the postseason and narrating a fantastic pregame show prior to the Divisional Round matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

Bottom Line: Unfinished Business for 2024

Eminem has always been outspoken in his rap lyrics, and it’s likely that he’ll continue to be in the thick of things next season if the Lions can replicate their success from this year and, hopefully, go all the way.

Until then, don’t be surprised to see some new tracks from the Detroit rapper to tide fans over.
