The Cowboys are looking at more candidates for defensive coordinator.

Todd Archer of ESPN says that Marquand Manuel, the safety coach for the Jets, will be interviewed on Thursday.

Dan uinn left the Cowboys to take a head coaching position with the Commanders, therefore the team is interviewing potential replacements.Q On Monday, they spoke with current Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde, who coached the Commanders in the past, and on Tuesday, they spoke with former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.

Rex Ryan, the former head coach of the Jets, has also interviewed for the position.

Manuel played under current Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in 2006, and he served as the Falcons’ defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2018. Throughout his career, he has served as an assistant coach with the Jets, Seahawks, Falcons, and Eagles.

Rex Ryan, the former head coach of the New York Jets, is considering a comeback to the NFL.

Josina Anderson of CBS NFL Insiders was the first to report on X, formerly Twitter, that Ryan was interviewed by the Dallas Cowboys for the position of defensive coordinator.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport revealed that Ryan “was nearly” the defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos last year.

said if the Cowboys hire Ryan to be their new DC it would “send shockwaves through the NFL.”

“You cannot convince me that starting your external search with  Mike Zimmer Ron Rivera, and Rex Ryan is taking the situation seriously or being any kind of all-in.”
