Dickerson, who served under Eric Mangini as an assistant with the Browns in 2009 and 2010, returns to the team with the challenging responsibility of taking Callahan’s place and elevating the offensive line to new heights with his strategy that proved effective in Seattle.

Dickerson’s efforts with the Seahawks won him accolades. As the run game coordinator in 2021, the Seahawks recorded the third-best yards per attempt in the NFL at the end of the season with 5.02 attempts. Dickerson led the 2022 offensive tackle transition to Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas, rookies, during a year when quarterback Geno

He will have to manage the play of three excellent offensive tackles and one of the top interior line combinations in the NFL. Despite their talent, the Browns’ season was marred by injuries and a disjointed performance in many areas. Dickerson’s run game performance will also be crucial to the team’s development, since the group had its poorest overall showing since Kevin Stefanski took over in 2020.

Dickerson, an offensive lineman from Wilmington, Delaware, attended Tufts University between 1999 and 2002.

Dickerson was first contacted by the Browns as a potential offensive coordinator, but Ken Dorsey was ultimately hired. When Callahan made the decision to work with his son in Tennessee, the early interview served as a catalyst for this relationship. The main reason the Browns are interested in Dickerson is because of his relationship with Sean McVay from his days as a Ram in Los Angeles.

Dickerson began his career with the Rams in 2012, which was a long time before McVay joined the team. However, it was the offensive line that Dickerson worked with that helped him land his first leadership position in 2021 as the run game coordinator for the Seahawks. Although Shane Waldron did not officially appoint him to coach the offensive line, he did assign him a more significant responsibility that involved managing all

After a poor 2021 in which they believed his pass protection was below standard and his run-blocking style did not gel with Waldon, the Seahawks eventually parted company with Solari. Dallas subsequently hired Solari prior to the 2023 campaign.

Dickerson was an obvious choice to become offensive line coach in addition to his run game coordinator position following his decision to split ways with Solari. Last season, the Seahawks had a strong run game and finished 12th in the NFL in terms of rush efficiency.

His knowledge of coordinating motion with their run concepts will be a valuable asset to the Browns’ evident offseason mindset shift.

In order to provide readers a complete picture of Dickerson as a coach and what he will contribute to the Browns’ 2024 offensive makeover, the OBR will be delving into his theories and methods over the next few days.

Patriots Hiring Browns Assistant Offensive Line Coach Scott Peters

Scott Peters, a former assistant offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns, will join the New England Patriots as the offensive line coach.

As it turns out, Scott Peters, the offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns, will not be promoted to take Bill Callahan’s position. Bill Callahan is going to the Tennessee Titans to coach with his son, Brian. That’s because, as Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 has reported, the New England Patriots have hired Peters to be their offensive line coach.
