Despite being eliminated from the playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens will make headlines on Thursday. Zay Flowers, a rookie wide receiver, is reportedly the subject of an investigation about an alleged incidence of domestic violence.
According to Jonas Shaffer, Justin Fenton, and Tim Prudente of The Baltimore Banner, Flowers has not been charged with any crimes in light of the purported reports. Because of state rules, police are keeping information confidential. The rookie for the Ravens may have been engaged in this reported event, which is currently under investigation.
The Baltimore Banner has reported that Baltimore County Police are looking into an alleged domestic assault involving wide receiver Zay Flowers of the Ravens. A domestic violence incident report pertaining to an event in Baltimore County last month that involved Flowers was acknowledged by the Acton, Massachusetts police department, which is also a part of the investigation.
The said event happened on January 21. The police will not give much specifics. Police are not permitted by state law to divulge information while conducting an alleged investigation. This is the reason this supposed scenario is being kept under wraps at the moment.
Acton Police refused to make the report public, claiming state statutes that protect victim-police contacts in situations of sexual assault and domestic abuse as private. A representative for Acton Police referred to the legislation and declined to comment further. Baltimore County Police admitted that they had been informed about an alleged assault in the Owings Mills neighborhood on January 21 when asked if they were looking into Flowers. According to a spokesperson, the department would not comment further at this time because the matter was still ongoing.
As of right now, nothing is final, thus the Ravens are remaining silent. Zac Hiller, Zay Flowers’ agent, allegedly didn’t reply to The Baltimore Banner either, at least not right away.
