In their FA Cup fourth round replay victory against Bristol City on Wednesday, Nottingham Forest had to put in a lot of effort.

After a 1-1 draw, the Reds needed extra time and penalties at the City Ground to defeat their Championship rivals. With just a few days remaining, Forest can get ready for Saturday’s Premier League matchup at home against Newcastle United (kick-off: 5:30pm).

Nuno Espirito Santo is also concerned about a number of injuries ahead of Forest’s matchup with the Magpies. After appearing to take a knock late in the match against the Robins, Gonzalo Montiel was substituted by teenage rookie Joe Gardner in the ninetieth minute.

In another incident, Felipe appeared to be having difficulty, and Morgan Gibbs-White was observed limping during extra time against Bristol, according to the Reds manager. “Let’s investigate. Our guys were having difficulty, particularly with extra time and all these problems. Nuno addressed injury concerns following his team’s victory in a penalty shootout. “Let’s assess them and see how they are,” he stated.

On Saturday night, Newcastle United takes on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Nottingham Forest trounced Newcastle United handily at St James’ Park on Boxing Day. The injuries to Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak will be disappointing for the Magpies, who only managed four points from their two games last week.

Due to their respective injury concerns, neither is anticipated to be fit for this weekend’s match against Forest. Three players who will play in the African Cup of Nations final are also out for the hosts.

 Felipe – doubt

The defender has recently returned from a thigh injury but was reportedly struggling after their midweek game over Bristol City.

Taiwo Awoniyi – uncertainty Awoniyi is returning to activity following an extended period of time out due to a groin injury. Having only played from the bench over the week, he could start against Newcastle United on Saturday.
