The Pittsburgh Steelers still need to replace the position left by Strength and Conditioning Coach Marcel Pastoor, therefore it seems like they are looking for more offensive coaches. Pastoor, who had been with the squad for the previous 23 years, departed last month. Even though it’s taken some time, additional names are finally beginning to emerge.

Greenville, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour north of Pittsburgh, is Matusz’s hometown. Matusz has a wealth of expertise inside the collegiate ranks. Following a stellar collegiate career that includes leading Villanova to the 2009 FCS National Championship, he rejoined the program as a strength and conditioning intern. He worked for Villanova for several terms before being recruited by Ohio State University. He worked there for six years in a variety of positions, including associate director of strength and conditioning and assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Mike Tomlin and Matusz are related through Dino Tomlin, who played for Maryland before joining Matusz at Boston College. During his tenure at Boston College, he managed the weight training and physical preparation of four NFL Draft selections, which included first-round picks Zay Flowers (2023-Ravens) and Zion Johnson (2022-Chargers).

Under Arthur Smith, the head coach at the time, Kambui oversaw the offensive line in Atlanta. His bio on the Falcons website states that he joined the team after playing for the Denver Broncos for two seasons (2021–2022) as the Marlin Briscoe Coaching Fellow. Kambui assisted with wide receiver instruction in addition to conducting film breakdown and scouting reports as part of his job duties. Before moving to Denver, Kambui worked as the running backs coach at his alma mater, Florida A&M University, for one season (2019) and as a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern University (2020).

After spending two seasons (2012–2013) at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas, where he appeared in 22 games at center, Kambui played two seasons (2014–2015) at Florida A&M prior to beginning his coaching career.

Baker played collegiate football with Smith at North Carolina and served as his assistant in Atlanta. Baker served as the Falcons’ backup special team coordinator during the 2023 campaign. Before that, he spent three seasons at John Carroll University as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. From 2006 to 2009, Baker was the Buffalo Bills’ backup quarterback.
