A huge injury concern for Nottingham Forest was raised before their match against Newcastle United, as the summer signing was ruled out. The club will assess Morgan Gibbs-White’s fitness at the last minute before playing Newcastle United.

Morgan Gibbs-White’s participation in Saturday’s (kickoff at 5:30 p.m.) match against Newcastle United will be decided after much consideration.

The offensive midfielder was seen limping across the City Ground field during extra time on Wednesday, when the Reds needed penalties to defeat Bristol City in the Championship in the FA Cup fourth round.

He had some pain and suffering, Nuno Espirito Santo revealed. We still need to evaluate him.

Gonzalo Montiel, a defender, will be absent for Forest in the interim. Due to a hamstring problem, the Argentine had to leave the game against Bristol City in the closing minutes.

“The game was challenging. We played a lot of minutes in extra time, especially for the players who haven’t played recently, Espirito Santo stated.

“We have various setbacks and problematic circumstances. Gonzalo is injured; he won’t play tomorrow, and we still need to evaluate a few players’ problems.

Gonzalo experienced a hamstring strain during a run in the last moments prior to his removal. He was a little uncomfortable. Today at 7 p.m., he will undergo the scan. For tomorrow, he is unavailable, but we will have to wait and see.
Chris Wood’s hat-trick sealed Nottingham Forest’s thrilling 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in the northeast a little over a month ago.

It was Nuno Espirito Santo’s second game in command of the Reds when they faced off at St James’ Park. However, the lineup he will probably choose for the clubs’ rematch on Saturday will reveal a lot about the difficulties he has already encountered in the City Ground hotseat.

To begin with, Wood is not expected to be available this weekend and might be out for up to two months. Ola Aina, Ibrahim Sangare (international duty), and Gonzalo Montiel (injury) were also in the starting lineup on Boxing Day, but they won’t be this weekend. Additionally, the name on the goal will be altered because Matz Sels was added during the January transfer window to replace Matt Turner as the starting goalie.
