Ty Bracey says Jhon Duran will be a “miss” for Aston Villa because the striker may be out until April due to a hamstring injury.

Unai Emery stated in an interview with BirminghamLive on January 30 that the Colombian international would be out for six to eight weeks.

The 20-year-old forward, who was linked to a move away from Villa Park in January, may make a comeback to action once his team resumes their Europa Conference League campaign later in the season, the Villa boss continued.

Although Moussa Diaby, Leon Bailey, and recently signed Morgan Rogers are all attacking players, Bracey feels that it’s “not ideal” for the Villans and that they may replace the second-choice striker while he’s out.

“We know Diaby can play there if needed, the same with Bailey, and I would probably assume Rogers as well is capable of filling in there if needed, playing that little bit higher up the pitch,” Bracey stated in an exclusive interview with Villa News.

He is undoubtedly the second striker, but his absence is unavoidable. For the remainder of the season, I believe we’ll be alright.

Aston Villa has other possibilities for attack.
Even if having just two experienced strikers increases the risk, Emery will be optimistic that the players Bracey names can step in and help Ollie Watkins and Duran share the weight.

This season, the attacker has generated some controversy at Villa Park due to rumors that he and the Villa manager had a falling out over playing time.

Nevertheless, the Colombian did see some action in the first half of the season; prior to missing time due to injury, he scored four goals in 23 appearances.

In other Aston Villa news, Unai Emery may have contacted his former club after a Villa player exit has been confirmed.
