According to reports, Nehemiah Gordon has signed a rugby league contract with the New Zealand Warriors, making him the most recent cross-code athlete to do so.

The fullback, who came to the Warriors from rugby union, was first given a train-and-trial deal but was later upgraded.

Nehemiah Gordon, who made an impression on the Warriors’ Jersey Flegg Cup team, has inked an NRL deal with the club, according to Wide World of Sports.

The fullback reportedly rejected down the Melbourne Storm’s offer to stay in New Zealand despite their apparent desire in signing him.

“Nehemiah’s strong work ethic, skills and his coachable attitude impressed the Warriors,” his manager Adrian Lepou told Wide World of Sports.

“He knows there is plenty of hard work ahead of him but knows this is a great opportunity.”
