According to Robert Earnshaw, West Brom has a “serious” goal-scoring problem that needs to be fixed if they hope to get promoted to the Premier League.

The former Baggies striker was questioned about the team’s goal-scoring struggles this season, since there had only been 41 goals scored before to Saturday afternoon’s match against Ipswich, during a live interview on Sky Sports on February 10.

And even though they are a very good team, Earnshaw thinks they have to get better in front of goal if they hope to return to the top division.

Not enough, he replied. “They’ve performed well defensively in one sense—they’ve preserved the cleanest sheets. But not nearly enough objectives moving forward.

“They have encountered difficulties. Although they have excellent attacking players with creativity, they lack a goalie. Place it in the box’s back of the net at the critical moment.

“Weimann’s arrival may help with that. They make an excellent team. However, they will have to score more goals.

Carlos Corberan is aware of a major West Brom issue.
Anyone who has seen the Baggies this season can see that their main issue has been failing to score goals.

However, Corberan’s actions during the January transfer window, in which three attackers were added, also make it seem that he is aware of this.

Although the team did not cause the loss of Jeremy Sarmiento, reinforcements were still required because Matty Phillips missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, Daryl Dike’s fitness was questionable, and Josh Maja was also absent.

With his first goal against Birmingham, Andreas Weimann has already made an impression, and while he is on loan, Callum Marshall and Mikey Johnston will be eager to contribute as well.

Hopefully, the new acquisitions can help, as Corberan has attempted to fix the issue and the team creates enough opportunities to score more frequently.
