The 33-year-old, who has been without a team since leaving Olympiacos in the summer, is expected to sign a free transfer with the Baggies and play for them until the end of the season, according to a report from the French media on Friday, February 9 on their website.

Since M’Vila has been in communication with Albion in advance and seems ready to commit to a deal in the coming hours, West Brom should be able to complete his transfer as soon as possible.

Yann M. and Carlos Corberan bolster West Brom’s playoff challenge. Before the transfer market even started, Vila Corberan stated that he wanted to bolster his team, and it was inevitable that West Brom would look to acquire a new midfield player given Jayson Molumby’s season-ending injury.

M’Vila isn’t going to show up and start every week, especially because he hasn’t participated in a professional football game in a few months, but he will give the Baggies much-needed depth, which is a big plus.

Alex Mowatt and Okay Yokuslu will probably start when healthy, but the 33-year-old can sit beside Nathaniel Chalobah on the bench and be called upon in the event of an injury, suspension, or even in the closing moments of games.

As seen by Pipa’s summer loan agreement, Corberan prefers to sign players with whom he has experience, and M’Vila is a player of whom he has expressed great regard. He should be able to increase Albion’s prospects of making the playoffs this year.

Lewis Cox reports that West Brom will not be able to finalize the signing of Yann M’Vila, a former midfielder for Sunderland and Inter Milan, on Friday.

The journalist for Express and Star reports that there is still bureaucracy to be resolved in relation to his visa and other matters.

Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the agreement to sign the Frenchman will be completed.

Even though he may not be the same player as he once was, he will give the Baggies midfield much-needed composure and leadership.

Yann M'Vila sheds wild reputation to try and save Sunderland

There doesn’t seem to be much competition to get him this month, with West Brom in advanced talks to sign him.

With the Corberan factor, it should be the case that the Baggies get their man and there are no last-minute twists.
